Resources to Help You Sell Your Furniture

Moving is tough, understandably. It is usually both emotionally and physically tolling. Moving can become especially difficult when trying to decide what exactly to do with all your furniture that you don’t want or are unable to take to your new location. Lots of times, leaving the furniture behind for the buyer or giving it away isn’t an option financially, because lets admit it, we could all use a little extra cash.

That’s why I decided to do this post now as we’re in the season for buying and selling. Hopefully you’ll be able to take away some resources that you’ve never heard of before that may help you get rid of your stuff and still see a little money in the process. These sites by no means are quick fixes, for that your better off first having a yard/garage sell to see what you can sell on the spot. These sites are however largely reputable and respected within the design and buying/selling communities.

My advice would be to designate a couple of hours of your free time to taking great pictures, at least five, of your furniture, creating a great and transparent description (meaning include all flaws, if any), and then posting. Krrb (pronounced ‘curb’) is a hyperlocal, curiously global classifieds made just for you. A most epic scavenger hunt at your fingertips where you can thrift, scavenge, rummage and discover local treasures – in your neck of the woods or over yonder. Advantages include: the site does not receive commission and you can sell local and save on shipping costs. (Krrb)

2. FleaPop

Build a shop for free – There is no cost to setup a shop and list items. Login with Facebook and list items with ease. Upload photos, set a fixed price, and enter tags/dimensions/description. Set a timer if you only have a certain time to sell. Sellers pay a flat rate 6% commission on all transactions. Launch Your Shop – Launch the shop and you’re in business. Share with your friends for maximum impact. Sell and Ship – Once an item sells, we’ll send you an email (to the email associated with your Facebook account) to coordinate either shipping the item or an email of the buyer to coordinate a pick-up. 3. Furnishly

Furnishly, the local furniture exchange, is the first ever consumer marketplace dedicated exclusively to the sale of second-hand furniture. By moving the furniture vertical into its own environment, Furnishly is able to offer value-add functionality that takes both the buyer and seller experiences to the next level. By incorporating geographic search, item segmentation, and social functionality, Furnishly hopes to vastly improve upon …read more
